FH6 Controller Not Working on PC — Disable Steam Input
Xbox or generic controller not detected in Forza Horizon 6? Fix Steam Input, DS4Windows conflicts, and Windows Xbox accessories on PC.
When your controller is not detected, shows wrong inputs, or triggers FHE01 crashes in FH6, Steam Input is the first suspect on PC.
Recommended fix: Disable Steam Input
- Exit FH6.
- Steam → Library → FH6 → Properties → Controller.
- Disable Steam Input.
- Use a native Xbox 360 / Xbox One / Series controller mode when possible.
PlayStation controllers on PC
- Prefer Steam Input OFF + DS4Windows in Xbox emulation mode, or use the official Sony adapter.
- Avoid running multiple remapping tools at once.
Xbox Wireless Adapter / Bluetooth
- Remove and re-pair the controller.
- Update firmware via Xbox Accessories app (Windows).
- Try USB cable to rule out Bluetooth latency issues.
In-game settings
- Settings → Controls → confirm control scheme matches your device.
- Reset to defaults if you migrated a profile from FH5.
